Tri-Fire Kids Race

TF Kids is dedicated to introducing kids to triathlon and teaching them about the sport in an atmosphere of encouragement and fun. Triathlon is a sport comprised of three things that almost all kids already do in the summer time: swim, bike and run. TF Kids shows kids 5-14 years old how to combine them in a way that is challenging and fun while getting great exercise.

Sometimes, TF Kids programs will focus on just one of the sports. Sometimes on all three. At all times, the programs will put fun first!

Note: While we work with kids of all abilities, please understand that we are not teaching kids how to swim or bike or run. Each participant should be able at minimum to swim 1 length of the pool without stopping and should be able to ride a bike safely.

Event Details

Due to the combined efforts of Team Tri-Fire, City of Fairfax Fire Dept, IAFF Local 2702, Mosby Woods Community Pool and many volunteers this mini triathlon has improved each year and increased in size. The event is for kids ages 5-12 and appropriate distances made for age groups. It is designed to provide a slight challenge while still encouraging participation in healthy fun activities and building self esteem.

The event will kick off at Mosby Woods Pool and continue in loops through the neighborhood

Lifeguards will be on-duty along with a safety swimmer in the water for the younger group. There will be course volunteers along the route to guide the participants and assist with safety.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us. We are willing to work with you to help children of all athletic levels have a good time!

Entry fee covers the cost of lifeguards, participation gift, and medal.
